Growing: Since it’s a fruit producing crop, it does best in sunny positions. Young shrubs like moist soils but once it’s well established, it’s fairly drought tolerant. You need both a male and female plant to produce fruit.
Edibility: Berries are edible and considered a superfood
Permaculture Uses: All members of the Elaeagnus family are nitrogen fixing, making them a valuable addition to a food forest.
